Spanish Sin Pena students and community members who want to learn by being immersed through educational classes & cultural experiences. Students are able to invite a family member or friend.


 
 

Learn Spanish and practice in El Salvador!

The best way to learn is to immerse yourself in the language and culture.

 


ITINERARY

Activities will include: Our activities include volcano hikes, nature visits to lakes and rivers, surf and yoga lessons on the beach, delightful coffee tastings, and hands-on cooking classes. We'll also explore sacred Mayan archaeological sites and vibrant Nahuat towns, and delve into the gripping war history and current social and political landscapes of the country.

Sample Agenda: The activities listed below are part of a draft itinerary and may be rearranged or changed based on group interest, weather conditions, and guide availability.

Day 1 : Arrival & Welcome Dinner

Saturday, November 30th

- Transportation: You will be picked up from the airport and taken to the house.

- Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner and drinks in the lively beach town of El Tunco.


Day 2: Early Yoga & San Salvador City Tour

Sunday, December, 1st

- Morning: Walk to Yoga and breakfast by the beach.

- Day: Transportation to explore the Historical Center of San Salvador.

- Evening: End the day with pupusas and city views.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 3: Monday - Visit to Suchitoto

Monday, December, 2nd

- Day Trip: Explore the colorful town of Suchitoto, participate in an Indigo dye class, and visit nearby lakes and coffee farms.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 4: Surf Class & Volcano Visit

Tuesday, December, 3rd

- Morning: Surf class or walk on the beach.

- Day: Visit Volcano El Boqueron and an iconic park with a rainbow slide.

- Meals: Breakfast and lunch included. For dinner you can explore the nearby restaurants of El Tunco.

Day 5: Ruta Maya Tour

Wednesday, December, 4th

- Day: Explore archaeological and ceremonial sites of Tazumal, Joya de Ceren, and Lago Coatepeque.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 6: Santa Ana Volcano Hike

Thursday, December, 5th

- Day: Hike Santa Ana Volcano and visit nearby Nahuat communities and rivers.

- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 7: Relaxation & Cooking Class

Friday, December, 6th

- Day: Relax with an optional massage and enjoy a cooking class on making pupusas.

- Meals: Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 8: Buen viaje! Departure Day!

Saturday, December, 7th

- Morning: Group departs. Transportation to airport is included.

- Meal: Breakfast included.

Casa Tunco

Check in 11/30 - Check out 12/7

El Tunco is a charming beach town located on the Pacific coast of El Salvador. We'll be staying just a few blocks from the beach, within walking distance to a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops. The town is known for its stunning sunsets and vibrant atmosphere. It's perfectly situated, approximately 45 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the capital city, San Salvador, making it an ideal location for both relaxation and exploration.

You'll be staying in a modest, clean, and well-located vacation home featuring seven bedrooms, each equipped with its own bathroom and air conditioning. The house offers WiFi, a relaxing plunge pool and we will have a well-stocked kitchen with snacks and drinks. Although there is no hot water, the warm weather and amenities make for a great stay.

  • Please note that because Spanish Sin Pena Immersion Trips are limited to a small number of attendees, our cancellation and refund policy is in place for fairness to all participants and to cover the necessary planning expenses. It is your responsibility to read and understand our cancellation and refund policies before making your payment. By making a payment you agree to these terms and conditions.

    Your first payment is a deposit. DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. When canceling 60 days before the trips your first payment is your deposit and will not be refunded. Other payments are refundable 60 day before travel date.

    No refunds for cancellations 30 days or less before the trip. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including flight cancellations, weather, injury/illness, personal emergencies, any government travel warning or advisory. No refunds or credits for failure to attend or failure to complete the trip, or for arriving late or leaving early. Exceptions to our policy cannot be made for any reason. The best option to protect your trip from unseen circumstances is to have travel insurance.

    If you need to cancel 30 days or less before the trip – no refund or future credit would be available but you may transfer your reservation to another person. It will be your responsibility to find the person that will take your place and inform us immediately with the person's contact information.

    Spanish Sin Pena also reserves, in its absolute discretion, the right to cancel any trip due to any material change or unforeseen event. While we will do everything within our power to maintain the travel dates, if Spanish Sin Pena must cancel for any reason, you may transfer your full payment to another trip, or receive a full refund of your payment, constituting a full settlement. Spanish Sin Pena will not be responsible for expenses you incurred in preparation for any canceled trip, such as airline tickets, loss of work, and/or other costs associated with preparing for your trip.

  • Please advise us before booking if you do have mobility, health or medical conditions which may affect any planned tours, or if you have any special requirements.

    All Activities listed are optional. Once the trip is booked we will arrange for a consultation to determine the final activities for the week.

    Being flexible as we are working with a group is crucial In this trip.

  • Do I need A Passport?

    Yes you do need a passport to travel outside of the US and its territories. Please do not delay in applying for or renewing your passport. Visit https://travel.state.gov/

    What to bring on trip? PASSPORT & COPIES

    This one goes without saying, but don’t forget your passport or you won’t be able to travel to Mexico.

    What to do before you travel:

    * Take a photo of the page of your passport with your photo and info on it β€” and email it to yourself and save it as a photo on your phone.

    * Have a few color copies of your passport made; bring one of those with you and leave another with a trusted person.

    * Store all your important documents in a secure place.

  • Insurance is for your protection, in case of unforeseen events causing trip cancellation/interruption, or any medical expenses during your trip.

    As unexpected things can happen, to join this trip we highly recommend YOU have travel insurance. Please be sure that your insurance policy covers medical expenses in the event of an accident & TRIP CANCELLATION in case you need to cancel due to illness, injury, or other serious health issues, personal issues, or family-related emergencies. Please make sure to read the policy and understand what is covered by your policy. When picking an insurance company it is your responsibility to know what is and what is not covered in the insurance you are purchasing. You can find a review of the best travel insurance here. Spanish Sin Pena will not be responsible for any cost not covered by your trip insurance.

    Travel Insurance gives you peace of mind and safeguards your investment in the event of a cancellation prior to or during your trip. 

  • It is not Mandatory to participate in all the tours/ cultural activities or classes. Please note that opting out of any activities will not change the price of the package.

    We do not offer credit for a guest arriving late or leaving early.

  • You just need a willingness to try and a desire to learn! You will get an assessment during your private session with Wendy and recommendations on how to prepare for the trip.

  • Congratulations! You will receive an email to schedule individual and group calls. You will also be asked to sign a photo and video waiver and general release of liability form. If you do not receive and email you can contact us spanishsinpena@gmail.com
